High-Hydrogen Silicone Oil: A polysiloxane with a high hydrogen content. Its molecular structure contains a large number of active Si-H (silicon-hydrogen) bonds. Its core characteristic is high reactivity, enabling it to crosslink or undergo addition reactions with other functional groups (such as hydroxyl and vinyl groups) through these Si-H bonds. It is widely used in the field of material modification.
Application Areas
Waterproofing Agents
Hydrogen-containing silicone oil repels moisture through its two non-polar components: the Si-O backbone and methyl groups (-CH₃). Under the action of a catalyst, it crosslinks at low temperatures to form a dense film that adheres firmly to substrate surfaces through chemical bonding. This provides highly efficient and long-lasting waterproofing, moisture-proofing, and reinforcement effects. It can be used in building materials, fabric finishing, powder materials, and various substrate treatments.
Vulcanizing Agents
High-hydrogen-content silicone oil is generally incorporated into vulcanizing agent formulations at a concentration of 10%–20%.
Liquid Silicone Rubber
Under platinum (Pt) catalyst catalysis, high-hydrogen-content silicone oil can be used as a crosslinking agent for addition-cure liquid silicone rubber. The typical addition level is approximately 2% of the liquid silicone rubber formulation.
Modified Magnesium Oxide Powder
Depending on the application, magnesium oxide powder is mainly classified into electrical-grade and refractory-grade products. Refractory-grade magnesium oxide powder generally does not require moisture protection, whereas electrical-grade magnesium oxide powder requires the addition of hydrogen-containing silicone oil as a moisture-proofing agent during production.
Modified Silicone Oils
As an important raw material, high-hydrogen-content silicone oil is used in hydrosilylation reactions to synthesize polyether-modified silicone oil, alkyl-modified silicone oil, and epoxy-modified silicone oil. These products are widely used in foam stabilizers, fabric finishing agents, and other specialty applications.
Lubricants and Release Agents
Hydrogen-containing silicone oil is used in rubber and plastic bearings and gears to reduce wear. It also serves as a release agent in molding processes, facilitating product ejection and improving production efficiency. In addition, it is used in rubber product manufacturing, paper and glass fiber processing, ink production, and many other industrial applications.
