Silicone oil has many special properties, such as low temperature and viscosity coefficient, high and low temperature resistance, anti-oxidation, high flash point, low volatility, good insulation, low surface tension, no corrosion to metals, non-toxic and so on. Because of these properties, silicone oils are excellent for many applications. Among various silicone oils, methyl silicone oil is the most widely used and the most important variety in silicone oil, followed by methyl phenyl silicone oil. Various functional silicone oils and modified silicone oils are mainly used for special purposes.
Properties: Colorless, odorless, non-toxic and non-volatile liquid.
Uses: There are various viscosities. It has high heat resistance, water resistance, electrical insulation and small surface tension. Commonly used as advanced lubricating oil, anti-vibration oil, insulating oil, defoaming agent, mold release agent, polishing agent, release agent and vacuum diffusion pump oil, etc. The emulsion can be used for glazing of automobile tires, glazing of dashboards, etc. Methyl silicone oil is the most commonly used. After emulsification or modification, it is used for smooth and soft touch finishing on textile finishing, and emulsified silicone oil is also added to the shampoo of daily care products to improve the lubricity of hair. In addition, there are ethyl silicone oil, methyl phenyl silicone oil, nitrile-containing silicone oil, polyether modified silicone oil (water-soluble silicone oil), etc.
Preparation or source: oily substance obtained by hydrolysis and polycondensation of difunctional and monofunctional organosilicon monomers.
Dimethicone
XY-dimethicone oil, chemical name polydimethylsiloxane, chemical formula is: (CH3)3SiO[(CH3)2SiO]n·Si(CH3)3
Dimethicone is a colorless and transparent new synthetic polymer material with a variety of different viscosities (5cps to 8 million cps), from extremely fluid liquids to thick semi-solids. This product has special smoothness, softness, hydrophobicity, good chemical stability, excellent electrical insulation and high and low temperature resistance. It has high flash point and low freezing point, and can be used for a long time at -50℃~+200℃. It has small viscosity-temperature coefficient, high compressibility, low surface tension, good hydrophobicity and moisture resistance, and small specific thermal conductivity.
