The application of polyether-modified silicone oil in several common fields is discussed in the following sections.
I. Pesticide Spreading Agents
In the agricultural field, polyether-modified silicone oil, due to its low molecular weight, can significantly reduce the surface tension of aqueous solutions and thus acts as an effective pesticide spreading agent. This improves the adhesion of pesticides to plant leaves, especially under rainy conditions, effectively reducing pesticide runoff, lowering the required dosage, and increasing the efficiency of pesticide application.

II. Resin Modifiers
In the plastics processing industry, the polyether segments in polyether-modified silicone oil enhance its compatibility with resins, forming a uniformly dispersed system. This not only improves the melt flowability of the resin but also significantly enhances lubrication between metals and plastics, thereby greatly improving the extrusion performance of plastics. Furthermore, polyether-modified silicone oil can promote the micro-dispersion of inorganic fillers, such as titanium dioxide and calcium carbonate, within plastics, thereby optimizing material properties.
III. Finishing Agents for Fabrics
In the textile industry, polyether-modified silicone oils impart hydrophilicity, moisture absorption, and antistatic properties to synthetic fibers and cotton textiles through finishing processes. Depending on the desired durability, softness, or smoothness, the hydrophobic segments of the polyether-modified silicone oil can be chemically modified. This finishing process is widely applied in products such as underwear, towels, bedding, sportswear, and socks to enhance comfort and functionality.

IV. Applications in Water-Based Release Agent Formulations
Aqueous dispersions of polyether-modified silicone oils, due to their excellent lubricity and ease of dispersion, are widely used as release agents in processes such as polyurethane foaming and injection molding, thereby improving production efficiency and product quality. When combined with specific compounds, such as perfluoroalkyl phosphoric acid or dimethyl silicone oil, their application range as release agents can be further expanded, making them suitable for the molding and processing of epoxy resins, plastics, rubber, paper products, and metal products.
V. Latex Heat Sensitizers
In the rubber industry, polyether-modified silicone oil is used as a heat sensitizer, providing latex with stability at room temperature and rapid solidification at specific temperatures. This type of heat-sensitive latex is widely used in adhesives for nonwoven fabrics and artificial leather base fabrics, offering excellent bonding performance and high production efficiency.
