Application Of Silica Powder

In the application process, silica powder is mainly used as a functional filler, which is compounded with organic polymers to improve the overall performance of composite materials. Microsilica powder itself is a polar hydrophilic material, with different interfacial properties from the polymer matrix, and poor compatibility. It is usually difficult to disperse in the substrate. Therefore, it is usually necessary to modify the surface of silica powder and intentionally change the physical and chemical properties of the silica powder surface according to the application needs, in order to improve its compatibility with organic polymer materials, and meet the requirements of dispersion and flowability in polymer materials. The quality of silica powder raw materials, modification process, surface modification methods and modifiers, modifier dosage, modification process conditions (modification temperature, time, pH value and stirring speed), and other factors will affect the surface modification effect of silica powder, while surface modification methods and modifier types are the main factors affecting the modification effect.
